The company considered other alternatives, but for John the Versant 4100, the improved version of the 2100/3100 models, could not be beaten.

‘The new 4100 included all the favourites that made the 2100 a winner for us, multiple feeding, inline GBC punching, full capacity stacker and complete booklet making with fore edge trimming and document finishing,’ said Brailsford. ‘Along with the latest high speed Fiery control centre coupled with our automated workflow, improved print image and long sheet capability, the 4100 ticked every box.’

The XR-640 has two inline, mirrored print heads, integrated printing and contour-cutting technology, and extended gamut XG inks that permit CMYK, orange, green, white and metallic configurations. The Flex Pack web software combines web-based hard copy and soft proofing in one package, with iterative colour management software for halftone and continuous tone proofing.

‘I joined the business 18 months ago to review its direction and processes,’ explained production director Des Kane. ‘The business did look at Oris but back then we couldn’t clearly see the benefits of what was being offered. Hen Party Superstore and its sister company, Play & Party, are both part of the Blue Cockerel Group – a long-established family run business which recently decided to bring its printing and finishing facility fully in-house.

Managing director Mark Hoar discovered Intec Printing Solutions at the UK Print Show in 2018. Mr Hoar and operations manager Sophie Thornton report that they were extremely impressed with the diverse range of equipment in the Intec range.
