Epson has added three 610mm width models and a 1117mm one to its SureColor SC-P series of roll-fed photo and poster printers, plus 610 and 910mm variants to the SC-T line of technical and poster printers, suiting a range of photo-based, inplant and CRD applications.
The new 610mm (24-in) photo printers are the SureColor SC-P6500E (single roll), SC-P6500D (dual roll with PostScript support)and SC-P6500DE (dual roll); the 1117mm (44-in) SureColor SC-P8500DL joins the existing SureColor SC-P8500D as a fully-integrated production printer with ‘smart’ features and a 1.6l six-colour ink pack system.
All the printers in the series use Epson’s six-colour UltraChrome Pro6 pigment inks, which now include an additional grey ink to expand colour gamut as well as for smoother tonal transitions. Print speeds are up to 18sqm/hr without compromising image quality and controls are accessible via the front of the printers in order to boost productivity. The printhead is protected from dust and particulates, reducing maintenance costs.
The new SC-T series printers are designed to meet the technical drawing needs of the architectural, engineering and construction industries, while being diverse enough to produce quality advertising posters for retail and public sector users. In addition to upgrading the 1117mm (44-in) SC-T7700D model, Epson has also introduced 610 and 910mm (24- and 36-in respectively) models, all of which share a compact and integrated design, as well as offering security features and an enhanced colour gamut.
With the new additions there are two 1117mm models, one 910mmm one and three 610mm options, with various roll and Rip/driver options. They all use Epson’s six-colour UltraChrome XD3 all-pigment inks, which include a new red ink that widens the colour gamut of the printers, making them well-suited to applications such as marking up CAD drawings and accurately replicating corporate logos.
