Konica Minolta is now the exclusive supplier of the Motioncutter Digital High-Speed Laser System throughout Europe.
Motioncutter, produced by German firm themediahouse, is a sheet-fed laser die cutting machine designed to provide high value personalisation and embellishment. Intended applications for the system include any free form shaped products such as direct mail, greeting cards, short-run packaging, stickers and labels.
It can handle substrates ranging in thickness from 54 – 150mm, sizes from A4 up to a maximum of 585 x 1000mm, and is available in two models, the Motioncutter 20 and the newly released Motioncutter 23.
With digital embellishment being seen as a key growth driver in the production and industrial printing markets, the Motioncutter’s creative solutions will open up new post-press opportunities for commercial and industrial printers, especially for Konica Minolta’s AccurioJet KM-1e and MGI customers.
Konica Minolta partner MGI, which recently extended its cooperation agreement with the multinational company, will also be actively involved to bring further added value for customers.
‘The Motioncutter is an important addition to the Konica Minolta product portfolio,’ said Hidetoshi Omo, head of Center of competence, KM-1 at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. ‘It brings a whole new dimension to value-added printing – besides decoration and embellishment.
‘Customers’ reaction has been extremely positive. They can create innovative solutions through dedicated digital production and generate profitable business. We look forward to further growing this partnership, as well as developing some new and innovative solutions with themediahouse.’
