New Forest-based Fordingbridge Print has installed a VeloBlade Volta 69+ digital die-cutter from Vivid Laminating Technologies to bring cutting in house.
Part of the Time 2 Display Group, Fordingbridge produces a wide range of products including banner stands, signage, flyers, leaflets and business cards, involving a range of digital print equipment. The company recently decided to invest in a new cutting system to bring the process in-house, enabling faster turnaround times for shorter runs.
Sales director Nicola Anten explained, ‘We looked at various options and the Veloblade Volta 69+ system ticked all the boxes as a long-term investment for us and was the best fit for our growing needs. By installing the Veloblade Volta we can now automate many of our jobs, offer bespoke packaging and much more. With our design team we can move both quickly and expertly to promote these new offerings. It is important for us to keep work in-house, offer a competitive service and offer outstanding quality. With the purchase of the VeloBlade, we will be able to achieve these objectives.’
Ms Anten said she is extremely pleased with cutting system’s performance so far. ‘The first live job we ran on the system was for some oversized A4 folders, cut to shape and creased. Further jobs in production included a shaped swing ticket with a 4mm hole in one corner and a custom shaped box for a local handmade cosmetics company. One of the best features of the system has been the ability to kiss-cut self-adhesive paper to make our own bespoke labels on an SRA3 sheet. If we don’t have the labels on the shelf, we just make our own,’ she added.
She also praised the support from Vivid: ‘From start to finish it has been a joy to work with the Vivid team. From initial enquiry to the installation team (who were amazing), the process has been seamless. At Fordingbridge Print we pride ourselves on offering exceptional customer service and we’re glad to say we have received the same service from Vivid. The build quality of the Veloblade Volta is excellent and moving forward we see a long relationship with Vivid,’ Ms Anten concluded.
